Another case of COVID-19,  this time in  the Timiskaming Health Unit area

The Timiskaming Health Unit is reporting its first positive case of COVID-19 in three months. The health unit confirmed the new positive case Tuesday. The individual is described as a female in her 30s who is from outside the district. The patient is currently self-isolating.
 

Stay off the Ski Hill – LSH staff

Members of the public in North Bay are being asked to stay off Laurentian Ski Hill. This is as construction takes place on numerous areas this summer and fall with the hope to reduce snowmaking costs and improve skiable areas, come winter.
 

Man missing in Timmins – 22-year-old Sha’Twain Moore

Timmins Police are attempting to locate a Toronto-area man who was arrested in Timmins last week on drug offences. Sha’ Twain (Da’Shawn) Moore, is 22, is listed as a “missing person” as Police would like to “determine the current whereabouts and confirm his wellbeing”
 

Library Board looking for members

The Greater Sudbury Public Library board of directors is accepting applications for three volunteer positions. Those brought on board would oversee the purpose and operation of the local library system. Regular meetings are scheduled 10 times a year for a term of office ending in January 2023.
 

Greater Sudbury man charged in Road Rage “bottle throwing”

A Chelmsford man has been charged in a bizarre incident… where he allegedly threw a water bottle out the window of his vehicle and hit the passenger of a passing vehicle east of Nairn Centre on Highway 17.The OPP are calling it an incident of road rage. Officers were able to find and stop the driver of the van on Highway 144.
 

Power back on following Timmins area outage

Power is back on after an outage in the Timmins area yesterday. It happened around the supper hour. The reason has not been listed. Anyone without power currently is asked to contact Hydro One.

There are eight active fires across the region, all of them are being observed. Its expected any rain today will help in the North East. Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services would like to remind the public to use caution when performing any outdoor burning. And when possible, try composting or using your local landfill.
